About me

Hello! Welcome to my online space, my name is Betty, I am originally Mexican with a Sicilian heart and I am the in house ceramist at Etna Urban Winery. Most of my work is hand-built so no two pieces are identical, as each piece dries, it is either burnished with a stone or textured. For me is important to keep the raw beauty of textured surfaces by neutral-toned glazes or slips.

I work with terracota and black italian clay, the pieces are fired to high temperatures in the aim to represents the nature around Sicily and the mineral volcanic feeling of the area.
